Corporate
Professional Standards
Every company in the group works to the same standards, set and reviewed at group level.
Guided by APES 225
APES 225 Valuation Services is the standard Australia’s accounting bodies set for valuation work. Our companies are independent valuation practices, not accounting firms, and hold every report they sign to it. The standard is theirs. The discipline is ours.
Independence
Before accepting an engagement, the company checks for any relationship or interest that could affect, or appear to affect, its independence. Fees are fixed or agreed in advance and never depend on the value concluded.
Scope in writing
Every engagement is confirmed in writing: the purpose, the intended users, the interest being valued, the basis of value, the valuation date and the information required. A report prepared for one purpose is not used for another, and work for court is always a separate engagement.
Information and representations
A valuation relies on the information the client provides. Before a final report is signed, the client confirms in writing that the information they gave is complete and accurate on the matters that matter most to the conclusion.
Review and sign-off
Reports pass through group-wide quality assurance before they are issued, and each is signed by a suitably qualified business valuer who takes responsibility for the opinion. Tools assist with analysis and production; people reach, review and sign every conclusion.
Confidentiality
Client information is used only for the engagement it was provided for. Read our privacy notice for how personal information is handled, and our complaints process if something has gone wrong.
